3MT OVC Heat

3MT® is an international competition where graduate students have three minutes to present their research and its impact to a panel of non-specialist judges and peers. The challenge is to present complex research in an accessible and compelling way, using only one slide. The exercise develops presentation and research communication skills that will be critical in the students' careers.

How to Participate

• Register to participate in the OVC 3MT® Heat by completing the Registration and Waiver Form before Tuesday, March 18th, 2025.
• Submit the completed form by email to Keriann McGoogan (kmcgooga@uoguelph.ca).
• Prepare one static PowerPoint slide using the UoG-3MT slide template (Version 1 or Version 2).
• If you wish to practice prior to presentation day, you can do so in LLC 1714 on March 21st (time TBA).

The top two competitors from each College Heat will compete in the U of G Final.
